Dr Timothy Cheong

Vitreoretinal & Cataract Surgeon

Dr Timothy Cheong is an Australian Ophthalmologist with expertise and international training in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery.

Dr Cheong is pleased to offer patients:

  • Retinal surgery, including vitrectomy for epiretinal membranes (ERM), macular hole (FTMH), vitreomacular traction (VMT) and retinal detachments
  • Cataract surgery, including the use of premium lens implants such as toric (astigmatism correcting), multifocal and extended depth of focus (EDOF) types
  • Complex lens implant surgery, including secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and front of eye (anterior segment) reconstruction

Dr Cheong graduated from medical school with honours at The University of Western Australia. His ophthalmology specialist training was at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, which was followed by double fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery in the United Kingdom. Dr Cheong also completed post graduate studies at Harvard University in the United States.

  • The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO)
  • Australian & New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists (ANZSRS)
  • American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS)
